I couldn't resist scanning and putting an article in the local newspaper (l'Aisne Nouvelle) with Léa's class posing for the picture. Can you see Léa? (hint: near lower right corner)
The article is about using soccer ("football" or even "foot" as it is called in French!!!) as a means to get the students interested in geography. All the students hold a map. Léa is holding a map of France. Can you see why France is sometimes called the "hexagon"?

RépondreSupprimerDear Lea,
This is Matthew and Yumaly. How are you doing? Are you having fun over there? Is it a beautiful town, or city? Is it a busy town? Have you ever get bored where you are living? How do the buildings look? Are they buildings or are they house? Do you got more space there than here, where you live? When is the last day of school?
-Matthew & Yumaly

Hi Lea,
It's your friends JACOB & ANGELICA. How are you doing? Are you doing good in school? How is France? Are you in Paris or where are you? Is it the countryside or is it the city? Does it remind you of Ratatouille? How does your Grandma's paintings look? How is your brother? Has he been bad? Does the food taste good? Lea you also have an apple slicer...how is that game that you like? Why is it so much fun? How does it work? Your teacher...she just looks at you and grades it...is that bad or good..and how is your teacher? Is she a good teacher or is she a bad teacher. And how old is she. You're doing fine in school? That picture of that bus is that your school bus? Yes or No? We are fine. I know you miss those snacks that we don't get anymore, but we are fine. And how does it feel to get out of school earlier and leave out of school earlier? We think it's so coool that you get on the bus all by yourself. And you wake up earlier! How different is it than NY? And are you sleeping right now or are you awake? Are you playing games with your dad? with your mom? Is it true that when its morning here it is night over there? Do you actually go to school later? Like do you go to school twice? We cannot wait that there are two more weeks till summer and we are so excited. Chance's birthday is coming up! Your friends are doing fine, and Uhuru is writing to you right now as we speak (on another computer). We are reading alot and doing math, and playing math games and we got a test coming up. Field day was a lot of fun. I hope when you read this we will be sleeping and that you have a good night. Ricardo is doing fine. He is the best person. What does the French flag look like? Is it colorful? How was your flight to France, when did you land? When did you take off, what airline did you go on, and what airport did you go to. Do you read books there?
-Jacob & Angelica
